2016 Turkey Season!

  The first day of turkey season was a good day but came up short. Got out to the blind before it started to rain. Before the rain started I heard one gobble from a long ways away. I started to call with my slate call and seem like he wasn't coming. Then I pick up my box call and hit it. He answer and started to head my way. I called some more to keep bring him on in. Then a hen answer!  

 I heard that hen answer. She was up the road in front of the blind. She came down the road running! She got to my two decoys and hung out with them for a few minutes. Then stared to feed a little bit. The gobbler would answer every time it would thunder. I heard a shot in that direction but it wasn't for him. Because it thunder again and he sounded off a gobble. So I new he didn't get shot. He kept on coming in. The closer he got the hen started to look around. He was going up the left side of the blind in the woods. She Started to head in the woods to the left of the blind. Then he went after her. They was going away from me. I hit my box call and they started to come back. But they went around the blind on the back side. Sound like they were going away again. I hit the box call again. He kept on gobbling. Sounded like he was coming up the right side of the blind. But he stop and didn't come in and didn't make no more sound. I think that hen he was with. He wasn't going to leave her!
